  7.         Glypha II requires a 13" monitor set at 4-bit display depth.  This is the freeware color sequel to JC's famous black & white game.  Combat flying sphinxes in an Egyptian temple, but beware the acid pool, the Evil Eye, and the Mummy's Hand.  Destroy eggs before they hatch into new sphinxes for bonus points.

  32.      This game is very similar to the arcade game Joust, however it has been adapted to single player only.  John Calhoun has authored other games that have gone commercial (Glider and Pararena) but Glypha II is the only shareware game that was in color.  The play of the game is good and the levels vary.  Any game written by John is worth checking out and don't miss the games that he has released commercially.  They are among the best.
